As a kid growing up in Huntington Beach, it wasn’t long before I started skateboarding. In fact, at a very young age, skateboarding became more than a hobby – it became my obsession. Everyday, I would skateboard until there was no more daylight, and some days even after dark.

During my summer break from San Diego State University, I began giving skateboarding lessons to kids in the neighborhood. In the summer of 1999, SKATEDOGS was born. It was not long before I was working with kids of all ages and abilities to enhance their skateboarding skills.

When I moved to Long Beach in 2007, I was surprised to see the popularity of skateboarding. The city of Long Beach is doing a great job supporting its local skateboarders by providing numerous skate parks for skaters of all ability levels. I believe that everyone should have a chance to learn how to skate. It’s a great way to meet people, to stay in shape, and most importantly, to have fun!
